Sunset Moth Earrings
The Madagascan Sunset Moth is considered one of the most beautiful members of the Lepidoptera family, with spectacular colors that don't come from pigment but rather from how light interplays with the scales covering the moth's wings. You will see iridescent greens, blues, reds, and oranges in these earrings.
The butterflies and moths used to make this jewelry are sustainably farmed, not taken from the wild, and are harvested when their natural life cycle ends. Butterfly farming has been shown to result in larger overall populations of wild butterflies. The wings are encased in crystal clear resin to preserve their natural brilliance - they are not colored or treated in any way beyond being embedded in the resin. They hang from sterling silver hooks and can be reversed. Measurements can vary up to half an inch in either direction simply due to the fact that they are natural wings, but the two earrings in a pair will match closely.
These earrings are dramatic and colorful but incredibly lightweight - you won't even know you're wearing them, but everyone else definitely will! Perfect for springtime!
